Tucked away in a pocket of coastline that runs down the east coast of Vancouver Island, lays Alders Beach Resort - an old logging camp turned rustic west coast cabin getaway.
Surrounded by towering cedars dripping in sea mist,
and giant maples shading the ferns and mosses below,
it’s a summer-camp-for-adults kind of vibe and where Taylor and Kevin hosted their wedding this past September.
This wedding was a dream for me because I had the coolest couple (the bride wore a leather jacket AND vintage lace), in the dreamiest location, and we got PLAY IN THE RAIN!
It was the wild west coast at its finest and we got wet and dirty.
With the wind at their back and the rain on their cheek, they said their vows overlooking a swollen ocean and a swirling sky. After, we wondered through the forests surrounding the property and found our way back to the sea. As the rain slowed and the clouds cleared, we took portraits before I said my goodbye and sent them off to the reception.
These two were down for anything and it shows. They were adventurous, hilarious and effortlessly stylish and I’m SO LUCKY to have such rad clients like these so I can share work like this.
This is the story of Taylor & Kevin.
